Origin & Production:
Produced in Stellenbosch, South Africa’s most acclaimed wine region, Hazendal Chardonnay is crafted from premium grapes cultivated in vineyards benefiting from cool maritime breezes. The grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed to preserve purity. Fermentation takes place partly in stainless steel to retain crispness and partly in French oak barrels for complexity. Lees stirring during maturation enhances body and imparts a refined creamy texture, reflecting Hazendal’s modern yet heritage-driven winemaking style.
Tasting Notes:
Aromas of ripe peach, melon, and citrus are complemented by subtle vanilla and toasted almond notes from oak aging. The palate is rich yet balanced, with layers of tropical pineapple, lemon curd, and hints of buttered brioche. Bright acidity ensures freshness, while the oak integration provides elegance and depth.
Serving Suggestion:
Best served at 10–12°C, this Chardonnay pairs beautifully with roast chicken, creamy seafood pasta, or grilled lobster. Its balance of fruit and oak also makes it ideal for sipping on its own during elegant gatherings.
