Origin & Production:
Crafted at a historic Stellenbosch estate, Hazendal Heritage Blanc De Noir is produced from red grape varieties gently pressed to yield a pale-hued wine. Cold settling and cool fermentation in stainless steel protect delicate fruit and floral notes. A short period on fine lees enhances mouthfeel without masking freshness. The goal is clarity, elegance, and a refined texture that showcases the interplay of red-fruit nuance and citrus lift often found in carefully handled Blanc de Noir styles.
Tasting Notes:
Expect a very light salmon-blush appearance. Aromas suggest wild strawberry, white cherry, rose petal, and pink grapefruit, with a whisper of sweet spice. The palate is vibrant yet silky, presenting pomegranate, blood orange, and peach skin over a chalk-mineral line. Acidity is pure and refreshing, carrying flavors toward a clean, mouthwatering finish. Subtle almond and bakery notes from lees contact round the edges without adding weight.
Serving Suggestion:
Serve at 8–10 °C with smoked salmon, sushi, grilled prawns, or caprese salad. It is also excellent as an aperitif. For an elegant pour, use a white-wine glass to allow the blossom and red-berry aromas to unfold while keeping the wine cool and precise.
